Scope of works - Gardeners Farm
- Project duration:
3 months
- Project value:
£250,000
- Completion date:
November 2019
Project Overview
Tower Construction was appointed as Principal Contractor following a devastating fire at Gardeners Farm, which destroyed both the original dwelling and the neighbouring barn. The damage was so extensive that the existing foundations were deemed unsuitable and required full replacement prior to reconstruction.
Working closely with the client and the insurance loss adjuster, we supported the early-stage planning, scope development and approvals process to ensure the rebuilding programme could commence efficiently and with full insurer sign-off.
Reconstruction of the larger barn began in August 2019 and was completed just three months later, delivering a substantial 200 m² storage facility. Alongside this, we delivered a new three-bedroom bungalow featuring an open-plan living area and impressive vaulted ceilings providing a modern, high-quality home finished to an exceptional standard.
Key Challenges
A key challenge was the extent of fire damage, which required careful assessment and full removal and replacement of the foundations before any rebuilding works could begin. This demanded precise planning, sequencing and compliance to ensure the new structures were safe and fit for purpose.
The project also required close coordination with insurance stakeholders to maintain progress while ensuring all works met the required scope, standards and approval processes.
Added Value
Tower Construction added value through proactive planning and stakeholder management, helping the client and loss adjuster reach clear agreement on scope and priorities early reducing delays and enabling works to start quickly.
By delivering the barn build programme in just three months, we restored vital storage capacity rapidly while maintaining quality throughout, supporting the client in returning the site to full use as efficiently as possible.
