Project Overview

Appointed as Principal Contractor, Tower Construction also managed the Principal Designer duties, working closely with the client and loss adjuster to accelerate the recovery programme and enable the site to reopen as quickly and safely as possible.

In the early stages of the programme, we delivered essential temporary works and secure hoarding to isolate the affected areas and support a phased reopening of the garden centre. Once operational continuity was restored, our team progressed into the main package of works, including major structural repairs, re-roofing, and a full internal refit — culminating in the complete fit-out of the kitchen and restaurant areas.

Tower Electrical completed the fire alarm system and the full electrical installation, supporting the project through to completion and handover.

Key Challenges

 

A major challenge on this project was maintaining safe public access while the business remained operational. Due to external pressures and the need to keep the garden centre trading, the site was only closed for one day throughout the entire programme.

This required careful planning and coordination, with temporary solutions designed and installed quickly to make the building safe, secure, and compliant while longer-term repairs were developed in parallel.
