Project Overview

We recently completed a total refurbishment of a Victorian property located in a conservation area. Tower Construction was responsible for all the planning and design aspects of the project, working closely with the conservation officer. The project involved significant structural alterations, such as underpinning and conversion of the basement. We also implemented acoustic and thermal upgrades, as well as landscaping, to meet the requirements of Building Control and conservation consent.

A key consideration for this property was its proximity to a railway line. To mitigate noise issues, we installed acoustic glazing and upgraded all external walls, ceilings, and floors. As a result, the house now boasts excellent noise reduction, making it one of the quietest houses we have ever produced.

Despite being built 180 years ago, the property now surpasses the thermal performance of modern newbuild properties. This allows residents to enjoy the character of an older property while benefiting from the features of a new home. Overall, this project has been incredibly fulfilling, and one of our most satisfying conversions to date.
